Helllllooo August

Yet again, I've had a few log in issues, but think (fingers crossed) I've got it figured out!

Sherman has been hibernating, it's been way to hot to cook, bake, sleep! I am looking forward to cooler weather in September!

I have managed to keep up sewing, with majority of my stock going to Summit Lodge in Whistler :)

I recently updated my Flickr page, and you can
check out 700 + monster pics here :)

Hope you're having a great summer!
I hope to be back posting soon! xx

Where in the World is Masaka, Uganda?

Recently, a friend of mine mentioned her dad was heading off to Uganda this month on a mission. I don't think I really understood what it was all about until I sat down and had coffee with Bruce, and read up a little more about it here, and here. Long story short, 9 people off to Masaka, Uganda to help out, in most any way they can. Currently fundraising for children, schools, families. To help them buy chickens, pigs, pay school fees, & access to clean water.

In the article you will read, they are going to give a "hand up", not a "hand out." Helping the locals learn to sustain themselves.

100% of the proceeds go to the people of Uganda.
So, these little guys will be making the journey over there as well. A rather small contribution, but usually a given smile if nothing else.
Monsters love kids, and kids love monsters, so they are of course excited! Annnnd, we've been told that banana's are quite popular as well. Monsters + Kids & Banana's = Love
I'm excited to hear about the trip,  and hope to update when I can :)

Finally, after 4 ish months, I'm back :)
I started "trying" to post, shortly before Christmas, and was struggling with some changes to blogger, today, low and behold, here I am.  So, just wanted to update on my monster stuff, and of course, say Happy New Year, Belated Merry Christmas, Happy Halloween 2013, and so on ;) - Some of you are not on facebook, so I like to try and update my blog here and there...... Like my dad, Hi Dad! xo

Anyhow, 2013 was a super monster year, as some of you know, I did a few less shows. I opted out of Our Best To You, and have not yet decided if I will be attending in 2014.. I am continuing to sew for Summit Lodge in Whistler, BC, and am really excited to be able to have my monsters hang out in their rooms, and be adopted by people from all over! It's very cool!

If you've adopted a monster from Summit Lodge, I would love to see pics of him or her in their new surroundings, as well as know what you named them :) You can upload to my FB  page.

I am going to work on trying to stock my etsy shop with a dozen or so, if you are looking for a custom order, you can reach me by email, facebook, or even on here.

February 1st is right around the corner, which is the birthday of a very handsome little guy in my life (Happy Birthday Jack xo), and it also means LOVE DAY is on the way! Valentines has to be one of my favorite crafty holiday!

Back To School!

Holidays are over :( School has begun .. and in attempts to making lunches more fun.. We whipped up a couple batches of pizza muffins, froze them by 2's, and they are easy to grab and go :)
So, you will need :
1 cup pepperoni, chopped
1 1/2 cups grated cheese
Set aside

 In a bowl, combine:
2 cups flour (1/2 white, 1/2 whole wheat)
2 tbsp sugar
1 tbsp baking powder
1/2 tsp baking soda
1 1/2 tsp Italian spices
1/2 tsp salt
In a separate bowl mix:
2 eggs
1 cup sour cream
3/4 cup milk
2 tbsp melted butter

Whisk together, and add to dry, until flour is all incorporated.
If too dry, add a little more milk.
To that, add your pepperoni and 1 cup of cheese.
Fill (SUPER GREASED) muffin tins, top with a spoonful of
 pizza sauce, a little cheese.
Bake at 400, for 16 minutes.
Enjoy :)

PB Oatmeal Cookies :)

Monsters love cookies, but really....who doesn't? The milk dunking size ones are best. You may have seen that we have conquered Chocolate Chip Cookies, now we are trying to perfect these ones :)
 Le Ingredients are :
- 1 Cup Margarine, melted for 30 seconds in the microwave
- 2 Cups of Brown Sugar
Cream that together, until light and fluffy
Then Add :
- 2 Eggs
- 1 tsp Vanilla
- 1 Cup Peanut Butter
To the wet ingredients, add :
- 4 Cups Rolled Oats
- 1 tsp Baking Powder
- 1 tsp Baking Soda.

Gradually add 1 cup of flour to this mixture, depending on the dough, you may or may not need the whole cup. I like to start out with less (1/2 cup), and add more after my first tray, if needed.
Drop by greased table spoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheet.
Bake for 10 minutes, turn pan, and bake another 2. Approximately

We like to take ours out a little soft. Makes them a little less crunchy.
Sherman appreciates it, since he doesn't have alot of teeth :)
Enjoy :)

Happy August

Hello! Happy August! Trying to keep more current with my blog, thought I would share a few photo's of some recent monsters :) I have been sewing like crazy, without procrastination this time, and lots of newbies are taking shape :) The downside... socks and stuffing are depleting. I had no luck shopping for either last weekend, but this weekend will try again!

Some new faces that were recently shipped off to Whistler :)
I am loving the little cyclops red head, he looks rather mischevious!

Batch #2 has been shipped to Summit Lodge, and number 3 is in progress :) I am also adding to the pile, to get my etsy shop plumped up a bit, as well as 1 Christmas Craft Sale I've decided to attend on November 30th, in Lacombe. I will post more on that as I get details.

I hope everyone is having an awesome summer vacation! And I know, if you are like me, back to school is nearly as exciting :) I love the break, but I love routine too.

In my never ending journey, trying to make some of these guys a bit
"different", I am liking this new look :)

See ya soon! xo

Hello :) I know it's been FOREVER since I've posted.
Thought I would update a little, to fill you in a little on our busy days!

So, I am still sewing, although I have decided not to do markets this year.
I know it is going to make it hard for people to adopt, but you can, email me, facebook me, or etsy me, and I will for surely work something out so you can get the monster you want and love!

In other news, which I don't post must personally... our 2 oldest boys graduated this year :) SO PROUD of these two and their accomplishments! So very Handsome, and Grown Up! Graduation was so much fun, alot of work, but worth it for sure! Time really does fly by.

And last, but certainly not least, we have new baby snuggles in our family!
This is my new sweet niece Amelia, and her big awesome brother Jack, LOVE them!

So, life has been busy, monsters have been waiting, and that is the great thing about them, they don't put up too much fuss. I am currently sewing arms for an order to be shipped out, but feel free to contact me anytime, if you are looking for a certain one!
