More Mocha Cupcakes!

I made a couple batches of these for a Valentines treat, using my fave, previously blogged Mocha recipe. So, you need, Betty Crocker Cake Mix :
To this, I added 1 cup of Buttermilk, 4 Eggs, and 1/2 Cup Vegetable Oil
I think the trickiest part is evenly distributing the mix among 24 tins! Bake according to directions on the box, 20 minutes at 350 in my case.

Now, the icing I whipped up in my Mix Master (you can use a bowl and electric mixer as well), and it was a little messy, so there are no pics. THIS post shows you how messy. THIS RECIPES ROCKS :

Dissolve 1 tsp of Instant Coffee in 1/4 Cup Warm Water
In your Mix Master Bowl ...
1/2 Cup Butter, Softened (a little), Whip a Little
To that, Add, 1/4 Cup Cocoa, Mix
Then 2 Cups Icing Sugar, 1 Cup at a time
Add Your Coffee Mix in Between Icing Sugar.

I let this whip up for a minute or so, scraping the side, until it's light a fluffly!

Normally I double this for 24 Cupcakes. One batch isn't quite enough, 2 has enough for some serious taste testing :)
Bake, Cool, Decorate however you would like! I bought these little toppers and liners at Superstore. Seriously Cute!
Enjoy! xx

Minion Valentines!

Minions are one of my most favorite things, besides monsters ;) Annnd I kinda like Valentines too! So, when I saw THIS POST on Pinterest, I had to pick up a box of twinkies! You can click the link for her direction, and print out of the minions :)
I used photoshop to make these little tags, and printed them out of cardstock, but you could easily cut them freehand and write out your tags!
You need twinkies, tape, scissors, twine, tags, and a printer!
Sherman wanted to help out, and helpful he was :) There are 8 twinkies in a box, and you will notice I have 6 complete valentines....
Once you tape the wrapper on the twinkie, punch a hole in the top of the wrapper, tie on the tag, and you're finished! So cute! And great for anyone :)
Who is your favorite minion??

Happy 2015

Christmas came and went in a blur, as usual. But it was also lovely. My boys spoiled me this year, we had nearly 2 weeks off together, that never happens anymore. You start to realize as they get older that time really is precious. xx

It was VERY cool to ship monsters off to Germany, Scotland, and the US during the Christmas season. I love handmade, and find more people appreciate the love and uniqueness that goes into it. So thank you for the monster love!

I have been stitching away continuously, hoping to keep my etsy shop plump, and besides Whistler, I have a few monsters going to Northwest Baby Co. in GP.
I am hoping to keep up with the blogging in the New Year. Sherman is getting excited for Valentine's crafts and baking :)

Loving the little smirks on these guys lately.

Will post soon! xx

20 More Sleeps

Hard to believe that Christmas will be here and gone before we know it! I am nearly done my shopping, besides my boys. Online shopping has been seriously awesome this year though! One more trip to the mall, and I will be done ;) Wrapping is my fave!
I have a couple orders to finish up this weekend, superheros :) And I have been adding to my etsy shop every couple of days :) You can check them out here.
My mom always called this the "expensive cheese" when I was a kid. And the only time we had it, was when they ordered cheese trays (normally at Christmas). Because I can... I have been buying these for my kids every week for 10 years now :) And these festive wrappers make them that much better! Seriously, get some :)
Leroy, away from the knives, fit perfectly in the cutlery drawer. My boys are not keen on him. Yet.

I'm going to think about some holidays baking next week. Some faves are of course the Nuts and Bolts, Whipped Shortbread, and these Cookie Bites! This post, has some awesome recipes too!

Spruce Meadows = Christmas Spirit :)

A day trip to Calgary, waiting for my auto start to be put in my truck (yahoo), left us with a free day to shop and tour. - My husband LOVES both. ha  One of my bestest friends was working at Spruce Meadows for the day, so we stopped in to visit. I had no idea this place even existed. But for 3 weekends in Nov / Dec, it turns into Spruce Meadows Christmas Market. It's a HUGE craft sale, full of Christmas goodness :) Definitely puts you in the spirit!
Like these awesome Scottish Singers, who were singing my song :) Bring Back my Bonnie to me :)

I met Dancer and Dasher :)

And the lights and decorations were amazing! So festive, and so pretty. Sherman was a little under the weather (meaning I forgot him at home). But next time he will definitely be coming with us. Check out their website here, to see all the stuff they have going on :)

Sherman & Leroy Day 2

So yesterday, we met Leroy.

Then this happened .....
Impressive balancing act... but I thought I might find them making crafts, playing lego, eating cheese. Something along those lines.

I think Sherman is looking pretty proud here, although I am not sure how long he planned on sitting on the gumball machine, or why.
But he is definitely underestimating Leroy.
I think December is going to be interesting, to say the least ;)
