Rhubarb Muffins

These are so good! I adapt this recipe depending on what ingredients I have on hand, and they ALWAYS turn out tasty! I've included the "original" though, if you want to try it.
Ingredients :
1 1/4 Cups Brown Sugar
1 Cup Vegetable Oil ( I used 1/4 cup Oil / 3/4 cup Unsweetened Applesauce )
1 Egg
2 tsp. Vanilla
1 Cup Buttermilk (Substitute by mixing : 1 tbsp Lemon in 1 Cup Milk, Let sit 10 min)
1 1/2 Cups Chopped Rhubarb
2 1/2 Cups Flour
1 tsp Baking Soda
1/2 tsp Salt
1 tbsp Baking Powder

Mix dry ingredients in one bowl, and wet in another. Add dry to wet, do not over mix. Fill greased muffin tins and bake for 20 - 25 minutes. They usually take the full 25 if you are using the applesauce.  Let cool.

The Topping = The Best Part
Mix 1/2 cup Sugar, 1/2 tsp Cinnamon, and 2 tbsp Butter.
Spread a little (or a lot) on each muffin.

Devour! Or... At least that's what my family does :) xx

Nelly & Nib

I found these super cute tiny socks in grey, red, & back. I thought I would do a couple mom/baby combos :) I have made a few of these previously, but it's been forever!

See, so little!! The mom, is made from a sweater sleeve :)
Once I had them stitched up, I used part of a sock to sew a little pouch on, for the baby to fit in.
And here you have Nelly and her little guy Nib :)

You can find them here, in my etsy shop! xx

Hello! Happy April, soon to be May. My blogging hasn't gotten any better... I'm still working on that. I've been sewing daily, with majority of my monsters going to Summit Lodge :)

Normally I would have some lovely flower pics of plants popping up in my beds. But my yard has been massacred, & my perennials are in pots... deep breaths! - We have a summer project on the go :)
This little guy moved to Hawaii last week, I can see why he's so happy!

Always seeking different looks for the wooly grey guys. I do like these antlers :) Gives them character for sure!

If you are on instagram, you can find my feed by searching "stufdmonsters", lots of new faces there. I will continue to try and update my Etsy shop regularily, which just hit 200 sales. HOORAY! As well as my Made Urban.

I am really hoping to do a Red Deer market or two this summer! Will be posting more on that when I know. xx

More Mocha Cupcakes!

I made a couple batches of these for a Valentines treat, using my fave, previously blogged Mocha recipe. So, you need, Betty Crocker Cake Mix :
To this, I added 1 cup of Buttermilk, 4 Eggs, and 1/2 Cup Vegetable Oil
I think the trickiest part is evenly distributing the mix among 24 tins! Bake according to directions on the box, 20 minutes at 350 in my case.

Now, the icing I whipped up in my Mix Master (you can use a bowl and electric mixer as well), and it was a little messy, so there are no pics. THIS post shows you how messy. THIS RECIPES ROCKS :

Dissolve 1 tsp of Instant Coffee in 1/4 Cup Warm Water
In your Mix Master Bowl ...
1/2 Cup Butter, Softened (a little), Whip a Little
To that, Add, 1/4 Cup Cocoa, Mix
Then 2 Cups Icing Sugar, 1 Cup at a time
Add Your Coffee Mix in Between Icing Sugar.

I let this whip up for a minute or so, scraping the side, until it's light a fluffly!

Normally I double this for 24 Cupcakes. One batch isn't quite enough, 2 has enough for some serious taste testing :)
Bake, Cool, Decorate however you would like! I bought these little toppers and liners at Superstore. Seriously Cute!
Enjoy! xx

Minion Valentines!

Minions are one of my most favorite things, besides monsters ;) Annnd I kinda like Valentines too! So, when I saw THIS POST on Pinterest, I had to pick up a box of twinkies! You can click the link for her direction, and print out of the minions :)
I used photoshop to make these little tags, and printed them out of cardstock, but you could easily cut them freehand and write out your tags!
You need twinkies, tape, scissors, twine, tags, and a printer!
Sherman wanted to help out, and helpful he was :) There are 8 twinkies in a box, and you will notice I have 6 complete valentines....
Once you tape the wrapper on the twinkie, punch a hole in the top of the wrapper, tie on the tag, and you're finished! So cute! And great for anyone :)
Who is your favorite minion??

Happy 2015

Christmas came and went in a blur, as usual. But it was also lovely. My boys spoiled me this year, we had nearly 2 weeks off together, that never happens anymore. You start to realize as they get older that time really is precious. xx

It was VERY cool to ship monsters off to Germany, Scotland, and the US during the Christmas season. I love handmade, and find more people appreciate the love and uniqueness that goes into it. So thank you for the monster love!

I have been stitching away continuously, hoping to keep my etsy shop plump, and besides Whistler, I have a few monsters going to Northwest Baby Co. in GP.
I am hoping to keep up with the blogging in the New Year. Sherman is getting excited for Valentine's crafts and baking :)

Loving the little smirks on these guys lately.

Will post soon! xx
