20 More Sleeps

Hard to believe that Christmas will be here and gone before we know it! I am nearly done my shopping, besides my boys. Online shopping has been seriously awesome this year though! One more trip to the mall, and I will be done ;) Wrapping is my fave!
I have a couple orders to finish up this weekend, superheros :) And I have been adding to my etsy shop every couple of days :) You can check them out here.
My mom always called this the "expensive cheese" when I was a kid. And the only time we had it, was when they ordered cheese trays (normally at Christmas). Because I can... I have been buying these for my kids every week for 10 years now :) And these festive wrappers make them that much better! Seriously, get some :)
Leroy, away from the knives, fit perfectly in the cutlery drawer. My boys are not keen on him. Yet.

I'm going to think about some holidays baking next week. Some faves are of course the Nuts and Bolts, Whipped Shortbread, and these Cookie Bites! This post, has some awesome recipes too!

Spruce Meadows = Christmas Spirit :)

A day trip to Calgary, waiting for my auto start to be put in my truck (yahoo), left us with a free day to shop and tour. - My husband LOVES both. ha  One of my bestest friends was working at Spruce Meadows for the day, so we stopped in to visit. I had no idea this place even existed. But for 3 weekends in Nov / Dec, it turns into Spruce Meadows Christmas Market. It's a HUGE craft sale, full of Christmas goodness :) Definitely puts you in the spirit!
Like these awesome Scottish Singers, who were singing my song :) Bring Back my Bonnie to me :)

I met Dancer and Dasher :)

And the lights and decorations were amazing! So festive, and so pretty. Sherman was a little under the weather (meaning I forgot him at home). But next time he will definitely be coming with us. Check out their website here, to see all the stuff they have going on :)

Sherman & Leroy Day 2

So yesterday, we met Leroy.

Then this happened .....
Impressive balancing act... but I thought I might find them making crafts, playing lego, eating cheese. Something along those lines.

I think Sherman is looking pretty proud here, although I am not sure how long he planned on sitting on the gumball machine, or why.
But he is definitely underestimating Leroy.
I think December is going to be interesting, to say the least ;)

I am going to try my best to keep up with some festive favorties this month, and hopefully make a habit of it :) On the top of my list, Tims festive cups :) I'm not sure if these were around last year, and I just wasn't a coffee drinker, but I love them :) And my hubby loves that I sing "festive cups" everytime we get them! Ha My latest fave is earl grey with 1 cream, 1 sugar :) Reminds me of visiting my gramps, and dunking arrowroots in tea.

We've added a little mischevious elf to traditions this year :) His name is Leroy, Sherman and him are sure to be BFF's :)

Happy December!

Helllllooo August

Yet again, I've had a few log in issues, but think (fingers crossed) I've got it figured out!

Sherman has been hibernating, it's been way to hot to cook, bake, sleep! I am looking forward to cooler weather in September!

I have managed to keep up sewing, with majority of my stock going to Summit Lodge in Whistler :)

I recently updated my Flickr page, and you can
check out 700 + monster pics here :)

Hope you're having a great summer!
I hope to be back posting soon! xx

Where in the World is Masaka, Uganda?

Recently, a friend of mine mentioned her dad was heading off to Uganda this month on a mission. I don't think I really understood what it was all about until I sat down and had coffee with Bruce, and read up a little more about it here, and here. Long story short, 9 people off to Masaka, Uganda to help out, in most any way they can. Currently fundraising for children, schools, families. To help them buy chickens, pigs, pay school fees, & access to clean water.

In the article you will read, they are going to give a "hand up", not a "hand out." Helping the locals learn to sustain themselves.

100% of the proceeds go to the people of Uganda.
So, these little guys will be making the journey over there as well. A rather small contribution, but usually a given smile if nothing else.
Monsters love kids, and kids love monsters, so they are of course excited! Annnnd, we've been told that banana's are quite popular as well. Monsters + Kids & Banana's = Love
I'm excited to hear about the trip,  and hope to update when I can :)

Finally, after 4 ish months, I'm back :)
I started "trying" to post, shortly before Christmas, and was struggling with some changes to blogger, today, low and behold, here I am.  So, just wanted to update on my monster stuff, and of course, say Happy New Year, Belated Merry Christmas, Happy Halloween 2013, and so on ;) - Some of you are not on facebook, so I like to try and update my blog here and there...... Like my dad, Hi Dad! xo

Anyhow, 2013 was a super monster year, as some of you know, I did a few less shows. I opted out of Our Best To You, and have not yet decided if I will be attending in 2014.. I am continuing to sew for Summit Lodge in Whistler, BC, and am really excited to be able to have my monsters hang out in their rooms, and be adopted by people from all over! It's very cool!

If you've adopted a monster from Summit Lodge, I would love to see pics of him or her in their new surroundings, as well as know what you named them :) You can upload to my FB  page.

I am going to work on trying to stock my etsy shop with a dozen or so, if you are looking for a custom order, you can reach me by email, facebook, or even on here.

February 1st is right around the corner, which is the birthday of a very handsome little guy in my life (Happy Birthday Jack xo), and it also means LOVE DAY is on the way! Valentines has to be one of my favorite crafty holiday!
